Does Avengers Assemble Equal The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes?

I know I hated this new cartoon from the getgo.
They lied when they said that "Avengers Assemble" would be a continuation of the vastly superior "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes".
Or did they?
