Gamora - Marvel Comics

No it's not a giant atomically mutated turtle.
It's the "Deadliest Women in the Galaxy", Thano's adopted daughter, Gamora.

The green-skinned adopted daughter of the Mad Titan Thanos was created by Jim Starlin and first appeared in Strange Tales #180 back in 1975.
Kinda hard to believe that was three years before 1978's "Superman" hit the screen isn’t it?

Gamora is the "Deadliest Woman in the Universe". She is a trained assassin plus she has your standard heightened speed, strength, agility, durability and of course an accelerated healing factor.
I mean..you just have to have all those things right?
Though seriously...this woman is bad. She can go toe to toe with the "Big Boys" and has taken out entire armies by herself.

Gamora has also been the girlfriend of Adam Warlock and Nova.
The more eagle eyed among you may have spotted Warlock's cocoon in the Collector's ship at the end of Thor: The Dark World.
So....he may not be far behind in the MCU.

‘Ant-Man,’ ‘Doctor Strange’ Lead Marvel’s Phase Three

 Marvel Studios has a lot in store for fans with their wave of Phase Two films: "Iron Man 3" and "Thor: The Dark World" in 2013, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" in 2014, and "The Avengers 2" in 2015.
But Joss Whedon's "Avengers" sequel isn't the only Marvel Studios release scheduled for 2015. In November of that same year, the world will finally see Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man," long-rumored but now on the fast-track towards reality as the official start of Phase Three.

So far this year we've lost 3 greats. Although these names may not be as familiar to some as the writers and artists now, these men made a great impact on me, and the generation that grew up with their stories.

What I remember......

Steve Gerber, Howard the Duck (forget the movie, read the first few books in the series) , Man-Thing, Omega the Unknown, Foolkiller ( " You're a FOOL! BLAM!, Punisher fans take note.) , Tales of the Zombie ( the only comic that actually spooked me) , The Defenders ( misfit heroes, way before everyone was a mutant at Marvel) , and the Guardians of the Galaxy ( Starhawk, the first hero that I recall that had REAL identity issues.)
Gerber's writing was escape, that still had threads of the real world intertwined.

Marshall Rogers, Daughters of the Dragon ( A Black and white comic. Get your hands on them and just look at the artwork) Batman ( Bringing more realism to the art, while keeping the " Dark Knight" before Miller) and Manhunter ( I really LOVED the back up stories in Detective Comics, again the artwork was amazing)

Dave Stevens, His pin-up style and glamour art illustrations, especially Bettie Page. Wow. And The Rocketeer,(okay, you CAN see that movie, I loved it too)His art had this realistic look, while still maintaining fantasy.

I really hope these are all we lose. Because these 3 were too much.
